Community Investment

Packing Thanksgiving meals for families.

One of the things that I appreciate about having my practice with Cahill Financial Advisors is everyone’s dedication to our community. I’m going on 15 years with Cahill, and, in that time, our team has more than tripled in size, and our assets under management have grown nearly 10-fold. Everyone agrees that our commitment to giving back to the community by sharing our time, treasures, and talent has been an important part of helping us grow as a team.

In addition to our individual charitable efforts and non-profit leadership, our firm has a committee that researches, plans, schedules, and manages our volunteer efforts. Each quarter, the committee members review local organizations that could use support. They then choose to either organize an event for Cahill to host in support of the organization or schedule time for the Cahill team to visit the organization and lend a hand. With our volunteer efforts targeting a new organization each quarter, we’ve had the opportunity to help numerous local and national non-profit organizations that are focused on improving our community.

At these events, the Cahill team rolls up their sleeves to help the cause, makes a financial gift to help support the organization, and after we’re finished, buys food and drinks for the crew to celebrate a job well done.

Unable to host our annual client holiday party due to the pandemic, I instead donated on behalf of our clients to The Foundation for Financial Planning. The FFP's mission is to help people in need improve their financial lives by expanding access to pro bono financial planning. Our donation was directed to the FFP’s COVID-19 Financial Resilience Fund.

As a team, we’ve raised and donated thousands of dollars to non-profits in our area, and we have consumed countless chicken wings at our wrap-up parties. Take a look at the organizations we’ve had the honor to support.

Polar Plunge for Special Olympics

For the last few years, the Cahill team has braved the frigid Minnesota winter weather and plunged into the icy depths of Lake Minnetonka to raise money for the Special Olympics Polar Plunge. I get to dust off my creaky old volleyball jumping muscles and use my Boy Scout skills to prep for a hypothermia scenario—all while supporting a great cause! No actual hypothermia cases yet though because the Polar Plunge organizers have created a fantastic event—complete with heated changing and food tents—but I still like to “Be Prepared”!

Continuing Community Investment

Whether it’s cooking meals for children at a crisis nursery, walking to raise money for autism research, working at local and national food pantries, hosting events to raise money for the Jeremiah Program, or cleaning up the environment, Team Cahill is always looking for ways to lend a hand for the betterment of our community.

If you’re a business owner, I encourage you to consider creating something similar to our Cahill Financial Advisors Community Investment Program. Through the hundreds of hours of volunteering, it’s been a fantastic ongoing team-building exercise and very rewarding to see the positive community impact.

The list of organizations that the Cahill team has supported is always growing. If you know of an organization in your community that could use our support, please let me know!
